Tough To Find A Church

"Jason and I had been in Alaska for six months or so and decided it was time to find a church. Jason was not interested in attending a church with formal service, dress code and people that put on a show on Sunday but don't really live that way the rest of the week. We wanted a church that was "real". One where the people were friendly, enjoyed being together, were comfortable to worship each in their own way, had understandable lessons that applied to life today, and most importantly one that had a sense of family about it. The following week I read the Riverside Community Church ad in the cache. It sounded like the church Jason and I had been looking for! Not only did the ad have humor and described the contemporary, friendly, non-denominational service we were looking for, it said we could come to church in our jeans! I knew that would be the clincher for Jason. The following week the kids and I went to Riverside (Jason was out of town). We were greeted at the door, welcomed in and made to feel at home immediately. Riverside was everything we were looking for and more. I knew immediately that it was a church Jason would enjoy going to. I couldn't wait to tell him about it. But most importantly, our children felt comfortable at Riverside and were excited to go back the next week. We have been going ever since!!"
