CULTIVATING PEACE IN A

WORLD FILLED WITH TURMOIL

God’s Sunrise will break in upon us, Shining on those in the darkness, those sitting in the shadow of death, Then showing us the way, one foot at a time, down the path of peace. Luke 1:78-79 (NCV)

God’s Recipe For Overwhelming Worry

1. Always ________________________ Joy.

* Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4 (NLT)

2. Don’t Worry About _________________.
* Rejoice in the Lord always... Don’t worry about anything... Philippians 4:4-5 (NLT)

* Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.” John 13:7 (NLT)

3. Pray About ______________________.

* Rejoice in the Lord always... Don’t worry about anything... instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need... Philippians 4:4-6 (NLT)

* Always be joyful. Never stop praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 (NLT)

4. Be ___________________ In All Things.

* Rejoice in the Lord always... Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:4-6 (NLT)

* Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)

* It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Philippians 4:7 (MSG)

5. Think About _____________________.

* You’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious— the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse... Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. Philippians 4:8 (MES)

* For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2-3 (NIV)

6. Experience God’s __________________.

* If you do this then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 (NLT)

* This is the way we know that we belong to the way of truth. When our hearts make us feel guilty, we can still have peace before God. God is greater than our troubled hearts, and he knows everything. 1 John 3:20 (NCV)
